With cities across Europe facing increasing pressure to reduce emissions, congestion, and space usage, micro electric vehicles are stepping into the spotlight. In this context, a new strategic collaboration between AMFI (Automotive Micro Factory Italy), Micro, and CEiiA marks an important step forward in building a truly European ecosystem for next-generation mobility.
A partnership built on complementarity
At the heart of this collaboration are two very different — yet highly complementary — vehicles:
- Microlino, developed by Micro, has already captured attention across Europe as a stylish, compact electric microcar designed for private users. Inspired by the iconic bubble cars of the 1950s, it brings emotion and simplicity to urban mobility.
- BEN (BE Neutral), developed by CEiiA, takes a different approach. Designed for business applications, it is a modular electric micro vehicle supported by an advanced digital platform that enables fleet management, smart services, and CO₂ tracking.
Together, they cover the full spectrum of micro-mobility — from individual urban commuting to shared mobility and last-mile logistics.
From vision to industrial reality in Turin
One of the most tangible outcomes of this partnership is the industrialisation of BEN in Turin, Italy.
AMFI will take the lead as the manufacturing hub, leveraging its flexible and scalable production setup specifically designed for micro electric vehicles. Working closely with CEiiA, AMFI will define and implement the production processes, supply chain, and quality standards needed to bring BEN into serial production.
This move further strengthens Turin’s position as an emerging European centre for innovative and sustainable vehicle manufacturing — combining deep industrial heritage with a forward-looking mobility vision.
Unlocking synergies across technology and production
The collaboration goes far beyond manufacturing.
The three partners will explore opportunities across:
- Shared powertrain and electronic architectures
- Joint engineering and product development
- Supply chain optimisation
- European funding initiatives
- International market expansion
By combining their respective expertise — Micro’s product vision, CEiiA’s engineering and digital capabilities, and AMFI’s industrial know-how — the partnership aims to create a scalable and competitive micro-mobility platform made in Europe.
Sustainability as a core driver
Sustainability is not just a goal — it’s a foundation of this collaboration.
CEiiA brings to the table its AYR technology, an award-winning system capable of measuring, tracking, and even monetising avoided CO₂ emissions. When combined with efficient micro vehicles like Microlino and BEN, this opens up entirely new possibilities for cities aiming to reach carbon neutrality.
From reducing emissions to optimising urban space, micro electric vehicles offer a practical and scalable solution to some of the most pressing challenges cities face today.
A step towards a stronger European mobility ecosystem
This partnership represents more than just a collaboration between three organisations. It reflects a broader ambition: to build a resilient, innovative, and sustainable European mobility ecosystem.
By bringing together complementary products, shared technology, and local industrial production, AMFI, Micro, and CEiiA are laying the groundwork for a new generation of urban vehicles — designed and built in Europe, for the cities of tomorrow.
